What you will study
Trace primary inertial, magnetic and compensation paths
Connect each AHC’s inertial computation with its FDU magnetic reference and ECU installation corrections. A heading discrepancy with supported pitch and roll points toward different evidence from an attitude-validity complaint. Physical mounting and stored aircraft corrections matter alongside computer identity.
Explain MAG, DG and what happens after SLEW release
Compare magnetic reslaving with free directional-gyro operation. Record the mode, whether the command is held or released, and the actual compass-card movement. A temporary correction returning toward the magnetic reference can be expected mode behavior; it does not by itself identify a faulty switch.
Separate selected source, display role and comparator response
Distinguish AHRS source selection from PFD/MFD reversion. Two agreeing screens can share the same selected AHC. Interpret the named AHC 1 pitch, roll and heading challenges together with their removal/recovery observations, without turning one test point into an exact universal comparator threshold.
Prove preparation, stored leveling and compass validation
Follow aircraft-reference preparation, MMT entry, the calibration cycle and retained correction as separate evidence. Keep compass compensation, index adjustment and actual-heading validation distinct. Calculate near-north heading error correctly and use the specific instrument’s criterion. Entered calibration values are not proof that the installed configuration has been written and verified.
Connect independent standby sensing and power
Trace GH-3100 attitude, magnetic and pressure inputs, retained configuration and normal/backup supply. A supported horizon does not establish heading calibration or pressure integrity. Distinguish the named AHC secondary-power timing check from standby battery capacity or endurance.
Complete the Rev A diagnostic learning path
The 38-page handbook supports eight lesson checks, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage fault cases and six fixed records with 20 classifications and three entered calculations. The 12-question independent review requires at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in the same attempt. The core lab has 24 completion requirements. Pass the separate 40-question final at 80%, with at least 32 correct. The online certificate requires the handbook, completed lab and passing final; practical qualification remains separate.
Learning outcomes
- Trace primary AHC, magnetic FDU and aircraft-specific ECU roles separately from the standby system.
- Distinguish MAG/DG behavior, selected AHRS source, display reversion and controlled comparator evidence.
- Interpret stored leveling, compass calibration and actual-heading validation without substituting one task for another.
- Match each disturbed sensing, pressure, configuration or power function to its required post-work evidence.
Aircraft and course applicability
King Air B300/B300C Pro Line 21 with AHC-3000/FDU-3000/ECU-3000 primary channels and GH-3100/MAG-3000A/PS-835D standby equipment. The named tasks cover FL-381, FL-383 and after; FM-12 and after, with installed equipment verified. Based on supplied Textron Maintenance Manual 130-590031-11 Chapter 34, effective-page list November 1, 2025. Fusion and other equipment require their own instructions. Current applicable aircraft and supplier instructions govern physical maintenance.
WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
