Caravan G1000 Attitude, Heading & Standby Diagnostics

Connect Caravan G1000 aiding, heading, calibration and the configured GI 275 standby instrument. A 49-page illustrated handbook, six interactive evidence exercises and eight two-stage cases teach how to interpret timed magnetic records, installation changes and completed battery tests. Includes six fixed records, three entered calculations and a separate 40-question final.

What you will study

Trace aiding and identify the installed generation

Follow AHRS, magnetometer, GNSS and air-data relationships to the actual displayed function. Keep GRS 77, GRS 79, GMU 44 and GMU 44B task applicability explicit; a shared unit-family name does not transfer historical test criteria to a different installed branch.

Turn magnetic and installation evidence into a useful next check

Connect recorded three-axis deviations and actual electrical-load timing. Separate unit retention, rack-to-airframe geometry and configuration-module identity. Retain failed vibration history and later installation changes instead of letting a new view or favorable status hide them.

Prepare and verify the named aircraft calibration

Distinguish main-AHRS calibration, left/right aircraft magnetometer direction and the separate heading-offset follow-up. Required setup and actual completed task evidence remain visible; selecting a calibration state does not perform physical work.

Understand the configured GI 275 and its battery evidence

Use the supplied Model 208/208B software 3.10 profiles to distinguish installed defaults from optional family capability. Interpret completed rundown, full-charge preparation, temperature-qualified repeat and restoration as separate requirements.

Complete the Rev A diagnostic learning path

Complete eight lesson checks, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and six fixed records with 20 classifications before the 12-question independent review. The lab has 24 completion requirements; the review requires at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in one attempt. Pass the separate 40-question final with at least 32 correct. Online completion and supervised practical qualification remain separate.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the installed AHRS/magnetometer/software branch before applying a test criterion.
  • Interpret aiding/status, timed magnetic and installation evidence without losing an unresolved finding.
  • Select the source-qualified calibration and heading-offset evidence.
  • Distinguish configured GI 275 function, completed battery endurance and final restoration.

Aircraft and course applicability

Advanced diagnostic study of the named Caravan GRS 77/79, GMU 44/44B and configured GI 275 branches using Cessna D2078 Revision 42, June 2024, and Garmin 190-02135-00 Revision 1, April 2017. Each exercise identifies the installed equipment and selected task. Historical GRS 79/GMU 44 criteria are not transferred to GMU 44B. The GI 275 examples use the actual supplied Model 208/208B software 3.10 profiles. Current applicable aircraft/supplier data and installation effectivity govern aircraft work. Supplied editions are identified study references, not a claim of source currency in October 2026. Online completion does not qualify physical calibration, battery work or aircraft release.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
