Caravan Pitot-Static and Air-Data Diagnostics

Trace Caravan pitot/static plumbing, drainage and air-data processing. Keep GDC 74A and NXi GDC 72 branches distinct while practising instrument-specific comparisons, net leakage and diagnostic cases with a 26-page handbook and 40-question final.

What you will study

Pressure sources and processing

Follow impact and static-pressure paths, alternate sources and drainage. Explain how the identified ADC converts pressure and temperature into data for connected consumers.

Safe tests and meaningful comparisons

Select the installed air-data branch, connected side and instrument-specific range before comparing a result. The first calibration exercise explicitly uses GDC 74A; net-leakage reasoning separates test equipment from aircraft evidence.

Practice, evidence and assessment

Eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and twelve independent decisions support the separate 40-question final. A referenced 26-page handbook supports the interactive workbench.

Learning outcomes

  • Trace pneumatic inputs and processed-air-data consumers.
  • Identify GDC 74A versus GDC 72 installation boundaries.
  • Use the correct instrument band and connected-side comparison.
  • Distinguish leakage, physical restriction and reporting evidence.

Aircraft and course applicability

208/208B plumbing and maintenance boundaries; G1000 GDC 74A and NXi GDC 72 architecture identified separately. The first calibration exercise explicitly uses the GDC 74A branch. Study source: Cessna D2078 Model 208 Maintenance Manual, supplied Revision 42, 1 June 2024; ATA 34. The comparison bench explicitly selects the GDC 74A functional-check branch. Governing-rule reference: 14 CFR 91.411 and Part 43 Appendix E, checked 8 October 2026.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
