What you will study
Battery condition in the installed system
Trace stored energy through connections, switching, protection, loads and the return path. Follow charging back to the battery, distinguishing state of charge, capacity, starting performance and installed-circuit faults.
Test selection and interpretation
Set up three simulated capacity tests and evaluate what the results prove. Practise capacity calculations, test-program selection and calendar/hour inspection planning using the stated source conditions.
Evidence and maintenance records
A 30-page handbook, ten guided cases and twelve independent decisions connect measurements to inspection and recordkeeping. The separate 40-question final requires 80%; independent review also requires every critical decision correct.
Learning outcomes
- Distinguish capacity from charge state and starting performance.
- Explain the charging and installed load paths.
- Interpret simulated capacity-test calculations.
- Plan source-based inspections and record the supporting evidence.
Aircraft and course applicability
Concorde RG/VRLA examples form the core, with Caravan and King Air context and focused chemistry comparisons. Actual battery and aircraft instructions determine applicable tests, limits and maintenance requirements.
WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
