What you will study
Separate liquid fuel from control information
Trace heater, pump, FCU, divider and nozzle functions. Distinguish P1 pump delivery, P2 metered fuel and Po bypass return from the P3 and Py air signals. An observation at one point does not establish every downstream function or mechanical feedback path.
Understand metering balance and mechanical Ng feedback
Explain the FCU regulating bypass and metering opening, selected-demand cam movement and opposing flyweight-governor response. Keep the regulating bypass separate from filter bypasses, ultimate relief, minimum pressurizing and positive shutoff. Compare a mechanical drive finding with the function it actually affects.
Predict P3 and Py control influences
Connect a faithful or known-low P3 input with the compressor-response schedule. Distinguish an intended Nf governing bleed from an external Py leak or blocked communication. Directional explorer views display these influences separately rather than claiming a precise fuel flow or acceleration result.
Connect staged delivery with local atomization
Follow the seven-primary/seven-secondary simplex-nozzle arrangement and the divider transition. Interpret named functional and external-leakage fixtures as different tests. Add light-streak sectors correctly while retaining independent heavy-streak, void, skewness, spitting and drooling findings.
Trace B300 purge and identify each drain
Explain how P3 charges the purge air tank and how stored air clears residual manifold fuel at shutdown. Distinguish the purge check barrier from the spring-open gas-generator drains, P3-filter drain and fuel-pump seal drain. Fluid identity and location are part of the fault statement.
Turn a complaint into a useful diagnostic test
Use pressure medium, liquid identity, collection time, fixture and observation to choose the appropriate comparison. Eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases and six fixed records prepare learners for a 12-question independent review requiring at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in the same attempt. Complete the lab and pass the separate 40-question final at 80% before the online completion certificate.
Learning outcomes
- Explain how the PT6A-60A pump, FCU and divider turn available fuel into a scheduled and atomized supply.
- Predict the separate effects of selected demand, actual Ng, P3 scheduling and the Py/Nf limiting interface.
- Interpret identified seal-drain, pneumatic, nozzle and assembly records using the correct medium, specimen and source criteria.
- Trace B300 shutdown purge and separate drain functions, then select evidence that distinguishes competing fault explanations.
Aircraft and course applicability
King Air B300/B300C with PT6A-60A engine-side metering, distribution and the identified B300 air-tank purge interface. System explanations and task records use the supplied P&WC 3034342 Revision 43, October 7, 2013, with the B300/B300C 130-590031-11 purge description dated April 1, 2018. Each numerical record retains its source task, component and test configuration. Illustrative FCU pressures explain a relationship; they are not operating limits. Airframe storage/transfer and full engine-control rigging are separate courses. Current applicable instructions and installed configuration govern physical maintenance; online completion is separate from observed practical qualification.
WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
