What you will study
Trace each quantity from its physical source
Follow wet torque pressure, older electrical torque, independent propeller and gas-generator speed sources, and the thermocouple-to-ITT path. A correct display is the end of a measurement chain, not an independent check of its physical source. Six explorer views let you predict the effect of supplied unavailable prerequisites before applying a configuration; the assumptions do not replace a wiring schematic or simulate engine behavior.
Select the torque branch and retain the complete leak record
Keep PT6A-114/-114A and PT6A-140 pressure comparisons and installation-head corrections separate from the older electrical method. Interpret a complete isolated leak record with its stated stabilization, elapsed time, temperature, altitude and initial/final pressure. A favorable corrected loss cannot clear a separately observed wet fitting, and one point cannot establish the complete installed system.
Separate speed and ITT response from source condition
Compare each prescribed standalone speed point and direction with its own tolerance; a brief charging interval does not establish the specified full charge. Use the selected ITT table, polarity, compensation and measurement boundary. Keep each isolated insulation result and physical connection finding independent. Indication calibration and wiring measurements do not by themselves clear engine thermocouples, mechanical drives or engine performance.
Identify GEA 71 and GEA 71B acquisition paths
Distinguish the named GEA 71 branch through software 2499.03 with its external signal conditioner from the named GEA 71B branch at 2499.08 and later with direct inputs. Do not infer unlisted intermediate configurations. Separate configuration and manifest evidence, selected software status and restoration. A missing prerequisite or an ineligible RUN event is not an established physical engine exceedance.
Complete the Rev A learning path
The 38-page handbook supports six required fixed records with eighteen classifications and three entered calculations. Eight lesson checks, six prediction-and-Apply exercises and eight two-stage cases with sixteen decisions prepare you for six required fixed records. Complete all preparation before the 12-question independent review: at least 80% and all eight critical decisions correct in the same attempt. The core lab has 24 completion requirements. First, latest and passing fixed-record and review submissions remain distinct. Pass the separate 40-question final at 80%, with at least 32 correct. The certificate requires the handbook, completed core lab and passing native final.
Learning outcomes
- Explain torque, propeller speed, gas-generator speed and ITT as distinct measurement chains.
- Select the applicable engine, instrument and GEA acquisition branch.
- Interpret corrected leak, point-response and insulation records without losing unresolved findings.
- Plan a source-qualified follow-up and complete restoration record.
Aircraft and course applicability
Cessna 208/208B engine-indication installations in supplied Maintenance Manual D2078 Revision 42, June 1, 2024 compilation, Chapter 77 with a list of effective pages dated May 1, 2024, plus the identified 31-45-05 signal-conditioner reference. Individual tasks retain their dates and effectivity. Separate PT6A-114/-114A and PT6A-140 wet-torque tasks, the older electrical-torque task, standalone speed/ITT instruments and named GEA 71/71B branches. Confirm the actual serial, engine, equipment, modifications and applicable current aircraft, engine and supplier instructions before physical work. Qualitative snapshots do not calculate engine torque, speed or temperature, reproduce a live engine or establish a unique failed component. Online completion remains separate from observed practical qualification, maintenance authorization and aircraft release.
WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
