What you will study

Glazing architecture and installation differences

Trace windshields, fixed panes, hinged vents, seals, retainers and surrounding structure. Distinguish passenger window arrangements and identified cargo plugs. Explain why cleaning, pane condition and attachment security require separate evidence.

Inspection, material care and restoration

Select permitted acrylic care, evaluate crack and corrosion findings, and interpret the stated drilling speed and geometry tables without inventing values between rows. Include disturbed anti-ice or OAT equipment in the applicable restoration work.

Practice, evidence and assessment

Eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases, a required measurement bench and twelve independent decisions provide 24 lab completion requirements. A separate 40-question final requires 80%; all activities are required for the completion certificate.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the installed glazing and applicable task before selecting materials or limits.
  • Explain how panes, retainers, seals and structure work together.
  • Interpret drilling speed, depth-to-diameter ratio and tool-geometry evidence.
  • Retain separate optical, attachment, structural and restoration findings.

Aircraft and course applicability

Model 208/208B acrylic windshields, cabin and door windows in supplied D2078 Revision 42. Identify actual part, aircraft serial and modifications.
