King Air 200/B200 Windows, Windshields and Transparency Maintenance Diagnostics

Identify acrylic pressure panes, heated windshields, attachment interfaces and mechanical polarizers. A 51-page handbook, original clickable glazing maps, ten lesson decisions, ten paired cases, three six-field jobs and four measured workshops connect actual damage, fit, cure and antistatic test records. Includes a separate 40-question final at 80%.

What you will study

Pressure panes, damage and attachment

Identify ply, material and edge, compare actual damage categories and trace pane/seal/retainer/frame relationships.

Windshield and storm-window installation

Separate stress-free fit, environment-qualified cure and post-cure securing; keep weather-seal and acrylic hinge/stop methods distinct.

Antistatic contact and test boundaries

Follow the distributed frame/glass, local-tab and two-pad coating maps, with actual contact-stack and restoration requirements.

Interior glazing and polarizers

Keep inner-pane cleaning, blind/duct/light restoration, earlier/later polarizer supports and six emergency-panel spacer records with their actual tasks.

Learning outcomes

  • Identify the actual pane, material, ply, edge and installed attachment before selecting a task.
  • Compare measured damage with the correct source-qualified category.
  • Distinguish gap, cure, initial seating and final torque in a windshield job.
  • Choose the correct antistatic test electrodes and criterion for the preceding result.
  • Restore named ventilation, panel spacers, connectors, clamps and affected functions.

Aircraft and course applicability

Systems and maintenance-decision study using supplied King Air 200/B200 Maintenance Manual 101-590010-19 Chapter 56, whose effective-page list is dated November 1, 2024 with mixed task dates. Actual window location, pane material/edge, installed part/kit and earlier/later mechanism select the task. Current online currency and aircraft applicability are not established by this study edition; actual maintenance uses current controlled instructions.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.

About 2 minutes
01 · Understand

The windshield antistatic inspection checks three different electrical paths. The initial frame-to-glass map uses a 100-MΩ (megohm) criterion. A separate frame-to-glass reading within 0.50 inch of the conductive tab uses 10 MΩ. If that tab connection fails, the following two-pad test checks the coating from one glass location to another. Keep the electrodes and the criterion with each test.

Keep the electrodes and criterion together
  1. Initial distributed frame-to-glass map
  2. Separate near-tab frame-to-glass continuity check
  3. Two-pad glass-to-glass coating map when selected
02 · Read the supplied record

Fictional powered-off windshield record: all ten initial frame-to-glass points exceed 100 MΩ. The separate reading within 0.50 inch of the tab is 16 MΩ. The prescribed next two-pad glass map gives ten values 18–75 MΩ, with its stationary pad beside the tab. The actual source/kit and compatible materials have been identified.

03 · Make a decisionWhich action follows these windshield antistatic resistance readings?

Original public teaching example based on the course’s published scope. Supplied records and values are training data. Aircraft maintenance uses current applicable instructions; this sample does not record course completion.
