King Air 200/B200 Doors, Latches and Warning Diagnostics

Trace the standard entrance-door and BL/BN cargo/airstair handles through their hooks, latch pins and warning switches. Connect physical locking, folding steps and inflatable-seal operation in a 50-page handbook and visual lab with 48 required responses, followed by a separate 40-question final at 80%.

What you will study

Follow the handle to the hooks and latch bolts

Locate the upper latch hooks, four side latch bolts, sight openings and locking mechanism. Separate actual engagement from total travel, then follow the lower forward bolt to the cabin door closed switch and the locking arm to the cabin door warning locked switch.

Make the warning follow the door state

Compare the closed/latched/locked position with the prescribed unlocking-force test. Keep CABIN DOOR and DOOR UNLOCKED indications with their installed Kit 101-3299 branch. Evaluate the physical switch event and connected warning-circuit response before naming a failed component.

Understand steps, support and seal air

Connect folding steps, handrail/support cable and hydraulic damper to door movement. Follow engine bleed air through the seal valve to the inflatable door seal, and compare pressure, contact and mechanical observations under their own test conditions.

Work through complete maintenance records

Use the clickable door-system views, ten lesson decisions and ten two-part coached cases, then complete three six-field independent work records. Each named response is required, totaling 48 fields. Pass the separate 40-question final at 80% (32 correct); visual exploration alone does not complete the assessed work.

Learning outcomes

  • Trace the named handles, hooks, latch bolts, switches, steps and seal-air components for the identified door installation.
  • Distinguish a secure mechanical engagement from the required warning-system response.
  • Compare supplied pin, cable, handle-force, step, seal and switch-test results without mixing their conditions.
  • Select the relevant standard-door, emergency-exit or BL/BN cargo/airstair branch.
  • Build a clear correction and repeat-check record that addresses the original named fault.

Aircraft and course applicability

Systems and maintenance-decision training for the identified King Air 200/B200 standard passenger/crew, emergency-exit and BL/BN cargo/airstair configurations in supplied Maintenance Manual 101-590010-19 Chapter 52, effective-page list November 1, 2024. Serial, installed door and Kit 101-3299 status select the actual mechanical and warning-switch branch. Original study records support diagnosis and measured comparisons. Physical aircraft work uses current applicable controlled instructions, the installed configuration and qualified personnel; online completion is separate from observed practical qualification.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.

About 2 minutes
01 · Understand

The standard passenger/crew door handle moves upper latch hooks and four side latch bolts. The lower forward bolt operates the cabin door closed switch; the locking arm operates the cabin door warning locked switch. Those switches monitor different mechanical events. In the Kit 101-3299 example below, the DOOR UNLOCKED annunciator must follow the prescribed closed/locked and unlocking-force checks. Check hook and pin engagement at the sights as well as the lamp response.

Follow the two door-switch events separately from the mechanical engagement checks
  1. Handle → upper hooks and four side latch bolts
  2. Lower forward bolt → cabin door closed switch
  3. Locking arm → warning locked switch → annunciator
02 · Read the supplied record

Fictional standard passenger/crew door with Kit 101-3299 installed: upper-hook engagement, all four side-pin engagement checks and sight indications are satisfactory. The door is closed and latched, the lock-assembly plunger is down and the handle is locked; DOOR UNLOCKED is OFF. During the specified 52-70-03 unlocking-force check, the light stays OFF. The supplied test criterion is OFF when locked and ON during that prescribed unlocking-force condition. No separate switch-operation or wiring result has been recorded.

03 · Make a decisionWhich next comparison most directly checks the missing DOOR UNLOCKED response during this unlocking-force test?
