What you will study

Ignition and automatic demand

Trace DC conversion, two high-energy branches, torque-pressure sensing, arming and annunciation. Distinguish shared switch packaging from proof of its independent functions.

Starter and generator interfaces

Connect relay control, field protection, cross-start current limiting and generator transition. Compare isolated spark rates, commutator depth, brush wear and relay-test chronology.

Practice and demonstrate understanding

Eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases, a required measurement bench and twelve independent decisions provide 24 lab requirements. The independent review requires every critical decision. A separate 40-question final requires 80%; the certificate requires all learning activities.

Learning outcomes

  • Explain how the exciter supplies two independent ignition branches.
  • Trace arming, torque switch demand and annunciation without treating the lamp as spark proof.
  • Distinguish starter feed, transient protection and generator output controls.
  • Interpret measured records and preserve each unresolved component finding.

Aircraft and course applicability

King Air B300/B300C PT6A-60A ignition and the starter-generator interfaces described in supplied Maintenance Manual 130-590031-11 Chapters 74 and 24. Confirm the aircraft serial, installed engine and equipment, modifications and effective tasks. Training covers ignition and reviewed electrical start interfaces; use the applicable starting and component manuals for full start sequences, duty cycles, cutout settings and component maintenance. Beechcraft Super King Air Model B300/B300C Maintenance Manual 130-590031-11. Supplied Chapter 74 effective-page list November 1, 2024: description and spark check April 1, 2018; pressure-switch tasks April 15, 2023; visual inspection and exciter installation November 1, 2024. Supplied Chapter 24 effective-page list November 1, 2025: DC-generation description April 1, 2018; relay test and brush tasks April 15, 2023.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
