What you will study

Follow the wing tanks, hoppers and engine-feed equipment

Locate the integral wing tanks, flapper valves, inboard hoppers, ML001/MR001 electric fuel pumps, primary ejectors and local transfer pump jets. Trace engine-feed and motive-fuel paths, then use SI007 FUEL TRANSFER and SI012/SI013 FUEL BOOST selections to identify the donor pump, receiving tank and expected quantity trend.

Keep vent, servicing and purge paths distinct

Follow the separate vent and relief paths, engine purge-air system and right-nacelle single-point refueling/defueling connection. Positive nozzle pressure opens the main shutoff; the high-level float then closes pilot flow, raising backpressure and closing the main shutoff. Compare the different uses of the precheck lever during refueling and defueling, with the complete task preparation and restoration.

Interpret the named fuel state and measurement

Compare an individual probe current with its correct known-fuel-state table and keep that result separate from EIS tank quantity. Identify the UC002 fuel quantity signal conditioner, capacitance probes, inboard low-level floats and outboard overfill floats. Work through transfer mass, precheck, residual-fuel and same-wing temperature records.

Retain the leak origin and post-maintenance proof

Use timed wing-skin leak measurements only for the stated origin and location. Tube leaks and structural cracks require their own repair and post-maintenance proof. Ten lessons, ten paired cases, five supplied-record tools and three independent five-field jobs connect the named components to diagnostic evidence before the separate 40-question final at 80%.

Learning outcomes

  • Distinguish primary ejector, electric boost-pump and local transfer-jet energy and flow paths.
  • Predict the donor pump, receiving tank and expected quantity trend from the stated transfer selection.
  • Locate the servicing connection and separate refueling, defueling, vent and purge functions.
  • Compare the correct individual probe/state row and the separate EIS quantity result.
  • Preserve the named leak origin, isolation, bonding and completed post-maintenance proof.

Aircraft and course applicability

Model 408 SkyCourier fuel storage, venting, engine-feed/cross-transfer, single-point refueling/defueling, purge and fuel-indicating systems. Freight and passenger FQSC access arrangements are distinguished. Engine-interface task effectivity is identified where needed. Based on the supplied 408MM13 Chapters 28/73; Chapter 28 list of effective pages is dated May 1, 2026. The actual aircraft serial, installed equipment/modifications and current complete instructions govern aircraft work.

WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.

About 2 minutes
01 · Understand

The Model 408 fuel-quantity test compares each capacitance probe with the row for the identified known fuel state. It separately compares EIS tank quantity with its permitted range. In the qualified 1000 lb Table 503 state, left probe 2 uses 1400–1500 microamps and EIS quantity uses 900–1100 lb. A passing total indication does not clear a failed individual probe-current result. Study reference: supplied 408MM 28-40-00 pp 501–504, March 15, 2022.

Keep the individual probe current and total quantity comparisons separate
  1. Qualified 1000 lb Table 503 fuel state
  2. Left probe 2 UL005: 1520 microamps versus 1400–1500
  3. Separate EIS quantity: 1010 lb versus 900–1100
02 · Read the supplied record

Fictional SkyCourier record: The supplied qualified Table 503 record has left probe 2 at 1520 microamps. Its allowed range is 1400-1500 microamps. Other probe rows are within their stated ranges; EIS shows 1010 lb, within 900-1100 lb. The named left probe 2 is UL005 near Rib 040/STGR 2, accessed through 521DT. The applicable task setup and known fuel state are qualified.

03 · Make a decisionFor this qualified 1000 lb Table 503 record, which interpretation correctly compares left probe 2 UL005 with the EIS tank quantity?
