What you will study
Feeds, dimming and configuration
Distinguish incandescent and LED arrangements, UC009 chart-light and UC010 panel-light relationships, cabin/courtesy commands and independent reading-light branches. Compare landing/taxi and NAV/anti-collision functions separately.
Diagnosis, alignment and restoration
Investigate local versus common faults, stored-energy precautions and sustained LED response. Compare level, fifty-foot screen distance, lamp height and beam target evidence, then retain installation and repeat-proof records.
Practice, evidence and assessment
Eight lessons, six prediction-and-Apply exercises, eight two-stage cases, a required measurement bench and twelve independent decisions provide 24 lab completion requirements. A separate 40-question final requires 80%; all activities are required for the completion certificate.
Learning outcomes
- Trace supply, command, dimmer and individual lighting branches.
- Choose the applicable incandescent, LED and cabin-option task.
- Distinguish one working function from proof of the shared enclosure.
- Interpret alignment geometry and retain complete restoration evidence.
Aircraft and course applicability
Caravan 208/208B lighting installations described in the supplied Chapter 33, including incandescent arrangements and the exterior LED branch for 208B5000 and on. Identify installed technology, serial and modifications. Includes cockpit, cabin, courtesy, reading and exterior lights; configuration-specific tasks remain separate. Cessna Model 208 Maintenance Manual D2078, supplied Revision 42 compilation; Chapter 33 list of effective pages 1 June 2024. Description and troubleshooting pages retain 2012/2019 dates; LED adjustment/test June 2013 and incandescent cabin operational check October 2022. Identify actual serial, lighting technology and modifications.
WWAOG provides independent training. Online completion records knowledge and simulation achievement; it does not replace observed practical qualification, employer authorization or applicable licensing. Use current aircraft-effective maintenance instructions for physical work.
