King Air inflow and vacuum-controlled exits

Find the cabin pressure controller, preset and safety solenoids, outflow valve and separate altitude-limit controllers. Follow cabin environmental air and outside wing cooling air separately, then predict how the named controls change the cabin exits.

01 / Explore the relationships9 selectable components

Two independent functions: environmental air provides cabin inflow; regulated vacuum controls outflow and the separate ground safety route.

Recorded state: before the supplied change

Green outlines identify components named in the selected exercise record; they do not indicate a healthy component.

Named connections and what each arrow means
  • Environmental inflow branches → Wing heat exchanger and bypassPhysical relationship: Environmental air through core or parallel bypass
  • Outside wing cooling air → Wing heat exchanger and bypassPhysical relationship: Separate cooling-air passages carry heat away
  • Two separate altitude-limit controllers → Normal outflow valveInformation / signal: Associated regulator relieves outflow opening vacuum
  • Two separate altitude-limit controllers → Separate safety-valve exitInformation / signal: Separate associated regulator relieves safety opening vacuum
  • Environmental inflow branches → Normal outflow valvePhysical relationship: Cabin air can leave through normal outflow
  • Environmental inflow branches → Separate safety-valve exitPhysical relationship: Cabin air can leave through separate safety exit
  • Regulated control vacuum → Preset and safety solenoid routingPhysical relationship: Regulated vacuum as control energy
  • Preset and safety solenoid routing → Cabin pressure controllerPhysical relationship: Preset-controlled vacuum route
  • Preset and safety solenoid routing → Separate safety-valve exitPhysical relationship: Separate direct ground-opening vacuum route
  • Cabin pressure controller → Normal outflow valvePhysical relationship: Modulated vacuum opens the normal exit
Component purpose

Environmental inflow branches

Add fresh air mass for cabin environmental supply and pressurization.

Supplied record: Not observed

How it works with the rest

Each engine feeds an environmental flow-control unit. BLEED AIR VALVES OPEN permits its environmental branch. ENVIR OFF shuts that branch while leaving the upstream pneumatic takeoff available. PNEU & ENVIR OFF shuts the bleed supply at the firewall. Recirculation blowers move existing cabin air; they do not replace this fresh inflow.

What the evidence must show

Separate actual left/right environmental duct flow from upstream pneumatic availability, blower noise and cabin pressure.

Selected: Environmental inflow branches

Fictional conventional King Air trainer record: regulated vacuum and both routing solenoids are serviceable. On the ground in PRESS, the controller route is blocked and direct vacuum holds the safety valve open. A supplied ground TEST snapshot represents the flight-like routing authorized within the complete source check. No instruction to perform an aircraft test or predicted cabin pressure is supplied.

Before the recorded change

Ground PRESS: preset energized, controller vacuum blocked; safety solenoid energized, direct opening vacuum present and safety valve open.

Formative supplement to TM-062 Rev C. Uses the supplied B300/B300C Fusion 434-590169-0009 Chapter 21, May 1/2018, conventional vacuum-controlled architecture. All observations are fictional trainer records. They supply complete qualitative conditions and no maintenance sequence, pressure limit, warning threshold or aircraft acceptance. Existing leakage records, assessed lab, exam and completion remain separate.
